I don't think so...Nintendo and Rare aren't friendly, whereas Nintendo and Konami are. In an ideal world, there Nintendo, Sony, Sega, Namco, Konami, etc. Would all contribute 10 characters to make it more of a universal thing (since if they include snake and not sonic there will be hell to pay).

You aren't going to see Sly or Ratchet and Clank or Jak and Daxter because those are exclusive series to Sony. You also won't be seeing Ico or Wanda although I'd fucking love an Ico Kirby. Crash Bandicoot and Spyro are possible but since they aren't really that popular I don't see them making the list. At least they are definitely not very high on it.
No. You won't be seeing any Rare characters except those created by Rare for Nintendo franchises which Nintendo now owns. Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Krystal - yes. Banjo, Kazooie, Conker, Joanna Dark, Kameo - no.

Also, you have to think hard. These characters have to be traditional videogame characters in order to work. I think the darkest you could get in that regard would be Simon Belmont or Alucard. Anything beyond that like Pyramid Head is ridiculous.

I also think it's getting pretty stupid of people suggesting two seperate characters can just change ala Sheik/Zelda. Sheik/Zelda are in fact one person and so can be changed. You can't just add Megaman X and magically change him into Zero, they aren't the same person! It's just as stupid as saying Mario should change into Yoshi.

Also, Nintendo please don't get rid of all the clones. Well not, Dr. Mario, he was my favourite character. :(

I think there should be unlocakble costumes, and you can unlock racoon mario, dr. mario, and zero samus that way. You could unlock them through story mode.

Honestly.... I never saw too much of a problem with clones. Oftentimes, the feel of the characters were dramatically different enough to call them different.

I'm really interested in this new Story Mode they're doing. It'd be awesome if it was that idea I had a while back about each character having his own story and boss characters to fight at the end. Link with Ganon, Samus with Ridley, etc. Master Hand is getting old.

That's a decent idea, having different suits instead of clones. Each suit could alter the character slightly. Racoon Mario could alter Mario's jumping and attack with his tail and so forth.

I didn't have any problems with clones either, except with Gannodorf. Why was he a clone of Captain Falcon is beyond me. Clones like Pikachu/Pichu and Link/Young Link are obviously going to be the same, but Mario/Luigi could have been more drastically different, especially now.

Oh, they should replace the useless trophy thing with the costume idea, the trophies were kind of lame. There could be buyable costumes (not unlockabe costumes) that anyone could wear such as a 8 bit costume that turns them into their NES selves. I also thought about a shadow link costume,cel shaded link, tanookie lugi (or mario), yoshi gets baby mario/ baby luigi on its back (maybe even make them a playable character)

And I wonder if there will be official online tournaments hosted by nintendo, where you can win credit for a free game from the virual consol
