I don't know what you see in it. It's a song from a game, but I don't think it stands out.

Soldier Mar 16, 2006 04:07 AM

So how many tracks are orchestral? And is the quality of the existing songs any better than the songs from the demo, or is it about the same?

Metal Sphere Mar 16, 2006 04:09 AM

These tracks alone trump what was in the demo, and from what I heard there's 120-130 tracks in the game, 10-13 of them ended up being arranged (anyone care to clarify what this means?).

Personally, I'm happy they didn't go orchestral ala DQVIII since the tracks all have this grating similarity to one another that Sakimoto has mentioned he wants to avoid (creating contrast between areas and music).

I see wonder, I see adventure, I see an interesting and varied composition, I see something exciting and engaging. I suppose different people just "see" music differently.

I think it means that 10 or 13 tracks were recorded with a real orchestra, the others are just sythethised sounds

It may also mean that Sakimoto was alone for most of the tracks but for 10~13 tracks, a big team was working on them.

If you listen to all the mp3 posted on yousendit, they're all recorded with synthethisers but still they sound great !

And they really sound like FFT music, it's incredible!

Ah, thanks for filling me in on this. I always wondered what it meant.

What's that hot saying going around? Oh yeah, The More You Know.

Well, what do you expect, it's Sakimoto.

Hello_Kitty Mar 16, 2006 04:45 AM

^ Yeah, but to me, I though he would have slighly change style with time (he did the Breath of fire V OST...), FFT must be ten years old now (like comparing Uemastu's work between FF's you can see changes); But i think i'm even happier that he sticked to that style

Anyways, for those who have progressed far in the game, are there small towns in the game ? the first town you are in is ginormous

You see all of that out of how much playtime? See, you can read as much as you like into what the song may represent, but you won't know until it's here.

I picked up a copy earlier today, and, well... I hated it. I decided not to return it, but rather to break it and complain about how much it sucks.

What the fuck.

Andrew Evenstar Mar 16, 2006 05:21 AM

I really like this game, I'm in the first main town with the merchants. I really like it and I've played through just about every FF game. The intro is awesome. music is great, and characters are tight.

Ashram Mar 16, 2006 05:44 AM

Man, the 7-minute intro music is great!! Also, the other tracks are also very, very good. Sakimoto really has gone all out on this soundtrack if these tracks are any indication.

The word you're looking for is "broken."

Metal Sphere Mar 16, 2006 06:51 AM

Why the hell are people freaking out? It's probably not Elixer's given that the same shot was posted over on GAF not too long ago.

Elixir Mar 16, 2006 07:11 AM

It's also photoshopped, because I see pixels.

Ok, I don't see it. Show me, since all I see are the pixels that make up the image itself.

B4-Hunter Mar 16, 2006 07:16 AM

Someone with scaner and original Final Fantasy XII please drop by here. Thanks in advance.

Elixir Mar 16, 2006 07:16 AM

Around the center of the middle ring. I also don't know if it's the same image as it's on the original disc. All I know is..

Oh well, currently downloading. I have hype over this game and I don't know why.

Simo needs to start creating sigs holy shit.

Double Post:
Eh, this selection isn't that impressive. Mediocre at best.

Eh, I'm crap at creating sigs but thankfully those "Avatar & Signature Requests" lot are pretty talented so I can't take credit for my current sig. Inhert was kind enough to make my signature and did a fine job at that. :)

Thanks to maskrider & BlimBlim at Gaming-Age we've got high quality downloadable versions of the Pre-Ppening FMV, Opening FMV and the first 6 minutes of gameplay. The direct links might not work so just go with the torrents:

Pre-Opening FMV

Opening FMV

First 6 minutes of gameplay

Again BIG thanks to maskrider for ripping and encoding the videos and BlimBlim for hosting.

I rather belive this than belive someone broke his own original copy of Final Fantasy.

I wouldn't rule it out.

King Dude of Damalsca dies

Ashe cries, i liked that because i though it was a forced marriage

Tutorial, i didn't really get what's going on there, we see Vayne for the first time and he seems to control Basch with a magic spell

------

Now controlling Vaan, killing some rats in the sewers for money i suppose, the little brat with Vaan is really impressed by Vaan skills... for killing rats great :juggler:

and that's only what i understood :(

Just in case..
Spoiler:
Just seen the opening CG...is it me or did they cut out the scene where Ashe meets Rasura and holds his hand (also shown in Kiss Me Goodbye Japanese PV)?

And it should be pretty obvious that it wasn't forced marriage, Ashe was smiling all the way throughout the ceremony :p

Yeah so it looks like the US version won't be released until November...
