Odd. My bluetooth headset works perfectly with Resistance. What kind of error are you getting?

And if you do get it set up, remember that you have to hold down L3 to have people hear you (if you're not in a team game.)

eprox1 Dec 29, 2006 04:19 PM

Weird...it's not giving me the connection error anymore, and my bluetooth is now working just fine. Maybe I had one too many at the bars last night :/.

I'm sure I wasn't holding down L3 either. I'm very new to the 'online gaming' thing.

Miles Dec 31, 2006 01:23 PM

I was thinking about buying a bluetooth headset with my best buy gift cards. Some range between 50 to 100 dollars. Which is a good one to buy? =\

eprox1 Dec 31, 2006 04:47 PM

Well, I use the Jabra BT350. Works just fine with my phone as well as my PS3, and it's right in your price range. I got it at the Verizon store for about $70. It has some pretty cool features too, such as answer/end call, last number redial, call hold/wait, as well as a vibrate alert. I can't really compare it to other headsets though, as it is the only one I have really tried...

ALSO -

I'm playing ranked games in Resistance online, but it won't keep track of any of my games or stats, but shows all of the medals I have earned. What the hell? Is there something I'm doing wrong, or something technically wrong with the Resistance servers, or something like that? I've noticed this with a lot of other people I play against as well...

Inhert Dec 31, 2006 07:14 PM

did you read the message they show before playing online? because you wouldn't have asked that question >.> (now go read it!)

SouthJag Dec 31, 2006 07:39 PM

Gonna have to ask this one again, but I have a little more ground to cover now.

Will the PS3 recognize and utilize a USB network adapter -- specifically, one like what the 360 and the DS have? Also, if it does support, is it safe to assume it'll let me connect to my PSP?

It seems wireless headsets connect just fine to the PS3, but how about a wireless keyboard and mouse?

Forsety Jan 1, 2007 05:35 AM

I couldn't get any mouses to work, but my wireless logitech keyboard works just fine with it. I think some people said that a lot of blue tooth keyboards will not work though, so I'd avoid getting any of those and just go for another brand of wireless.

Not sure what you are asking exactly above, though. the 60GB has wifi so it will find and use any usb network adapters you have within range; but er, not sure what the DS or PSP has to do with it though, unless you are asking if the PS3 functions like they do, and yes -- as long as it is the 60gb version.

SouthJag Jan 1, 2007 09:13 AM

I'm referring to the 20GB model. Since it has no built-in wireless, I'm wondering if it can use something like the DS's or the 360's wireless network adapter that plugs via USB to pick up on a wireless signal.

And then if it can, will I also be able to connect to my PSP just like the 60GB already allows you to do?

D'oh!. I just assumed that was an online users agreement or something like that, which I ALWAYS just click 'accept' rapidly until I get to a screen I want to see...

I'll pay attention from now on :(. Thanks.

I'm not sure but I thought that the DS usb network adapter was to create a wireless signal from your wired connection on your PC, I'm not sure if it work in the other way though...

oh and sorry bluebomber, I really didn't wanted to be mean >.< it's just I saw this asked so often when they have the answer right when they start the game XD

Slayer X Jan 2, 2007 01:39 AM

USB adaptors normally do downstream access where I don't know if it work with the PS3.

The Nintendo USB adaptor though only does upstream which means that it wouldn't work. Not only that, but it also only works with Nintendo products.

Miles Jan 3, 2007 04:20 PM

I bought one of these yesterday: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1125238765780

My friend works for Best Buy so he was able to buy one for 47 dollars. I have yet to try it with my PS3 but I heard this one works fine. If anyone is up for a game in Resistance I'll play. :3

I should warn you that I'm terrible at first person shooters.

Cobalt Katze Jan 3, 2007 07:16 PM

Definately :D What's your PSN name? Should start up a name topic perhaps, now that people can actually find PS3s!

Miles Jan 3, 2007 07:38 PM

Well, the wii and xbox 360 forums have topics for friend codes/xboxlive names so if you create a thread with a collection of PSN names I'll go ahead and sticky it!

I'll also add a field in our profiles to keep it.

Quick question for people using blutooth headsets with their PS3's -

Should my PS3 be automatically finding my headset? It seems that I have to put my headset into pairing mode and go into the system settings every time I want to use it. Could it be something wrong with my headset, or is there some kind of 'trick' that I'm just not doing? It's pretty annoying...

EDIT:
Oh. Found this pretty nifty site - http://boardsus.playstation.com/play...read.id=898874

According to these guys, I'm not the only one with this problem. It could be caused after charging, after the PS3 is restarted, or simply because of the headset model. I have a Jabra 350, and some other guys who have the same headset say that they also have to put it into pairing mode every time they start up their PS3.

So if anybody is looking into a headset, maybe you can use this as a reference.

There was a cryptic message just recently posted over on NeoGAF regarding the PSN title GripShift DLX... Seems that it'll be released at noon on Thursday the 4th -- which would technically be today! 10 bucks, looks like a solid game too. It's a remake of a PSP title of the same name (minus the DLX bit).

Hey, I've been finding a lot of 60GB PS3s in stores. Does anyone think this is an isolated occurrence around here and I should be picking one up right away, or is this odd abundance just the case right now?

SouthJag Jan 6, 2007 01:31 PM

Sony came off their production issues they were having at launch, so its really no surprise you're finding them a good bit more easily than over the holidays. Two things can contribute to that, really -- the manufacturing issues having cleared up for one, and now that we're out of the holiday season, no one's running around "I'VE GOTTA GET A PS3 FOR MY KID OR S/HE'LL BE DISAPPOINTED AND WE CAN'T HAVE THAT!"

We're still selling them pretty well at my store, but Sony's managed to send us two shipments in one week, so we've also had quite a few to sell.

Slayer X Jan 6, 2007 01:33 PM

With games like Metal Gear, Tekken 6, Devil May Cry, Virtua Fighter 5 all coming out this year everyone should be picking one up ;)

4 have been sitting at my Walmart for the last 5 days or so, because no one gives a shit.

So I doubt it's isolated. If EB is getting multiple shipments per week, then heck, they'll be easier to find far earlier than I had anticipated. (Which I assumed would be around late February)

Forsety Jan 6, 2007 06:27 PM

They still sell out fast here. It really does just depend where you are, more or less. It was pretty hard to get one here without an annoying bundle deal; but I managed it. A lot of the ones I see that won't sell are because they are part of a bundle deal that nobody wants; they just want the system and maybe one or two games.

Soldier Jan 6, 2007 10:20 PM

It's ironic, and quite annoying, that the Wii is impossible to find in my area, yet every clerk I've talked to seems required to add "oh but we got the PS3's in stock." I acquired the PS3 first because I was certain it would be harder to find. I don't regret buying it before Wii, but it doesn't satisfy my Zelda craving.

Gripshift is available for purchase now, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the demo. Maybe I'm just not in the mood for racers, but I'd rather wait it out for Flow (hopefully out by next week) and Tekken 5.

I'm also hoping for more notable Blu Ray releases. I rented Black Hawk Down, which looked fantastic in 1080p. I hear The Descent is a great transfer too, but it wasn't available for rent.

LivingDreams Jan 7, 2007 12:42 AM

I got my PS3 (60gb), I'm liking it, it's a nice silent machine btw. Only problem I'm having which every one else is having is the damn gfx issue with ps1 and ps2 games. I hope sony fixes that problem soon.

Slayer X Jan 7, 2007 11:43 AM

I don't know about that, Sony's been pretty quick at fixing the major bugs between games, other then the odd small glitch like the one sound effect in DMC3 that eccos, or the small graphics glitch in the first boss battle of FFVII there's nothing so huge where you can't play the game. And considering how many games they have to get to work on the PS3 I find it astounding that they got as many to work as well as they have.

I myself have about 160 PS2 games and 52 PS1 games and I have yet to find an issue that's so annoying that it stops me from being able to play the game. But hey, I know that I don't own nor play every game on the planet so I'm not tryingto speak for anyone else, this is just what I have experianced.

P.S.
Need... Tekken ...5: DR...... NOW!!!!

LivingDreams Jan 7, 2007 09:13 PM

Yea I know it's not a problem which stops me from playing it but I still want to be able to play games like KH2 without those damn jaggies. Btw I havn't tried any PS1 games, and the only PS1 game I really bother about is FFVIII, has any one tried it to see how bad it is on the PS3?

I still hope Sony is able to fix this problem, I dont care about the HD issue with resistance since I'm playing my PS3 on my 480i or w/e it is TV since our Plasma is in the living room and I wouldnt be able to play my PS3 that much since my family will be hoging the TV.

Btw I just bought a wireless keyboard ands mouse for my PC today, it's a logitech LX710 Laser combo, will it work on my PS3?

Edit: Nvm I just tried it, it does work, so sweet.
