Alright, alright.

Edited, again

Bradylama Apr 16, 2009 11:45 PM

So I want to get this straight, does Surestrike do ONLY weapon damage without strength bonus?

knkwzrd Apr 16, 2009 11:49 PM

The wiki says it'll do 1d8+4 damage.

So, with your -1 to attack rolls, 4 damage.

The unmovable stubborn Apr 17, 2009 12:00 AM

You appear to be conflating "attack rolls" and "damage rolls" again. Arg's damage isn't affected by the Splintering Shot.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Apr 17, 2009 03:40 AM

Strategy time!

I think we should concentrate on killing the vampire. Hopefully doing so will make Hargustus like us and the other two run off in terror or something.

I don't suppose anyone thought to bring any holy water or anything? Since Gabe is a religious personage or sorts, can he bless things to make them hurt vampires more?

FatsDomino Apr 17, 2009 07:59 AM

Somebody save beard bro :(

Sarag Apr 17, 2009 09:50 AM

I've asked about holy water before, and I think Pang said that there's no real rules about it for 4e. That may've changed now that they came out with a new book or maybe it's different for one vampire versus dozens and dozens of zombies, however.

The unmovable stubborn Apr 17, 2009 02:36 PM

Yeah, there still aren't any real official rules for holy water, but like I told lurker: find a water source and do something that might plausibly consecrate it and I'll work with it.

The 5 points of vulnerability generally aren't worth the effort unless you've set something up in advance, though.

Additional Spam:
Garr, Fighters have to do their Combat Challenge as part of an attack, so unless you used your bow then it's not possible at range.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Apr 20, 2009 04:12 AM

Pang, does Gareth have resitance against necrotic damage or did you just forget that Bob's Ray of Enfeeblement does 1D10+5 damage?

I'm assuming the former but thought I better check.

The unmovable stubborn Apr 20, 2009 06:07 PM

Yeah, with any corporeal undead enemy you can reasonably assume they're going to have resistance to necrotic.

Actually looking at his statblock it was supposed to be Resist 10

But you may retain your single point of damage

For I am a Benevolent DM

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Apr 21, 2009 03:39 AM

Cool, it was the weakening effect I was more after anyway.

I swear these dice are loaded against me though.

Bradylama Apr 22, 2009 12:24 PM

What are the movement rules for the raised platform?

The unmovable stubborn Apr 22, 2009 04:56 PM

There aren't any, other than that the center square isn't passable.

knkwzrd Apr 22, 2009 06:03 PM

Did we ever find out what was in the central silver bowl? Would that knowledge even be of any benefit?

Bradylama Apr 22, 2009 10:42 PM

Sorry about the wait but I guess it was worth it. =V

edit: forgot about the critical bonus

Additional Spam:
I pretty much just invoked the spirit of Zed with that one, maybe there's something to it...

Don't think anybody particularly bothered to look at it.

And what exactly does it take to check this in the midst of battle? Free/minor/standard action? How close would I have to get?

Not that I'm trying to make it a priority, but if Soggy can figure it out as he runs by I figure it couldn't hurt to know.
