And thus is the end to one the most exciting divisions in wrestling. Up next is the ECW title(and the brand heh). I blame the brand split. Not enough people on SD in the division.

SuperSonic Mar 13, 2008 12:46 PM

I didn't even realize the Cruiserweight title was still around. That sucks though, because that was a huge thing in WCW. It could've worked, you just needed to have the champ defend it on all three brands.

Screw Mayweather. The Big Show tossing him from the ring was the best thing that could've happened. Although it probably won't happen, I'd like to see Mayweather get his ass kicked at Wrestlemania because so far he has shown nothing but horrible mic skills and...well, that's it actually.

Example: "I broke your nose, at Wrestlemania...I'm gonna break your jaw!"
Damn, that's just as bad as "THE CHAMP...IS...HERE!!!"

El Ray Fernando Mar 13, 2008 03:36 PM

WCW had such an awesome cruiserweight division, I used to tune in just to see that on Nitro. The luchadors coupled with wrestlers such as Malenko, Kidman and Jericho really made it worthwhile. Nowadays your lucky to see a South American in the WWE.

Even for those who survived the cull it would be nice if people like Rey didn't cast off his luchador roots with solid ground and air ability in WCW for the boring shit he does in WWE I mean 619 what the fuck is that!!? Most stupidest thing I've seen in wrestling. You just wanna slap every kid who screams at that damn move.

Seriously you have a fucking million Mexicans over there so hire them.

Winter Storm Mar 13, 2008 04:25 PM

I think Rey dropped out because frankly, he had no competition in the division, except for Chavo. He also used to be Mr.Reverser..a guy who can reverse any move, but he's not doing much of that anymore. When they're done with his push, I wonder what will be left for him to do.

Manny Biggz Mar 13, 2008 06:35 PM

That's the problem. It shouldn't be thought of as being "done with his push". WWE needs these former champs to all be top contenders at all times so the title picture can stay "fresh".

As for the cruiserweight title, it was already dead when Vince neutered it by not allowing several of the more spectacular high flying moves. The only flip that's being allowed these days is a freakin moonsault!

El Ray Fernando Mar 13, 2008 07:46 PM

Gotta say its true, they've dumbed it down so much for children that everything is spread too thin.

I have to say alot of the WWE stars simply do not know how to wrestle FACT. That saddens me the most out of everything. Cruiserweights are among some of the best in my view.

The actual ability to me is so much higher accross the board in TNA where you actually get matches that are good to watch but it looks like they have been put through their paces in basic mat work. In the WWE its the older generation like Taker, Michaels, Edge, HHH, Jericho, Finlay etc... that look like they've had any proper mat training. Cena looks like he's been taught by a school teacher.

Forget all the crappy story lines; regardless of company, if you can only do 3 moves (Cena) or not execute a move properly to save your life (Batista) you know your brand is in trouble.

mortis Mar 14, 2008 09:44 AM

Cena can do more but they restrict him in order that he won't get injured as often. I mean, his last injury was pretty freak and other than that he hasn't hadn't any injuries since 2004 at the royal Rumble.

It's weird to think of Edge and Jericho as the "older generation". I think more of HBK and Taker but yet they are STILL around even when a few years back they were considered the "old generation".

Speaking of HBK, it's so strange that we are in teh final few weeks of Flair's career. I'm not his hugest fan but it's sad that it all may very well come to an end. It's funny too, as it was ten years ago at Mania 14 that HBK thought HIS career was ending due to his back injury.

Manny Biggz Mar 14, 2008 06:40 PM

Oh man, I remember that Cena injury at the 2004 Rumble. That makes me cringe every time I see it. He's not the only one to land like that, but he is one of the only ones to actually get injured from it.

Slash Mar 14, 2008 07:18 PM

Wait..what injury? I totally must have missed something

mortis Mar 15, 2008 05:14 AM

He got dumped over the ring by Big Show and landed badly on one of his feet. THey usually show it in the "Don't try this at home" things on their DVDs and such.

dagget Mar 15, 2008 07:04 AM

Sure it was Big Show and not Batista? I want to say that was also the rumble that Vince tore both quads trying to get to the ring, furious because the spot was botched.

mortis Mar 15, 2008 07:14 AM

Nope, Big Show. It was to add fuel to their match-up at Mania.

Batista won the 2005 Royal Rumble. He had his showdown with Cena at the end including the aforementioned thing with McMahon.

dagget Mar 15, 2008 07:52 AM

oh nevermind, I'm stupid. :P Actually I think I just didn't really care much about it then because that's when I started to get rather bored and would just have it on Raw because it was habit. :|

mortis Mar 15, 2008 06:45 PM

OUch, and Jeff's bad luck continues. Sadly, his entire house and everything he had burned down. The poor guy even lost his pet dog. While I know he made his own choices and all, still, poor guy...

IdleChill Mar 17, 2008 06:13 PM

Watch for SimDaddyGT tonight on RAW. He should be real easy to pick out. :33:

He's got ringside seats. =o

Rockgamer Mar 17, 2008 07:55 PM

Shit, really? I'll definitely keep an eye out, then.

Slash Mar 17, 2008 10:03 PM

My thoughts on Raw

Spoiler:

I'm shocked at the amazing team work (and crowd response) during the Orton/Cena vs. Raw match.

And how gay is that they made Kendrick walk out on London

Winter Storm Mar 18, 2008 12:23 AM

Spoiler:
I knew it coming at some point. With all the jobbing Kendrick was doing, I felt there was gonna be a walkout/Paul-slowing-me-down mini angle thingy. For better example: Hurricane and that other dude. And more and more I see tag team division going bye bye.

Well triple threat week is over.. All three of them led good shows. Now RAW will go back into suck mode with Regal :/.

Slash Mar 18, 2008 12:25 AM

Spoiler:
Actually the thing with Kendrick was that London was out with an injury. And haven't they done this angle before? Although I do have to say, if they gave Kendrick an angry goth/emo style gimmick he could probably pull it off.

When he came out for the Orton/Cena vs. RAW, he had this crazed demented look in his face/eyes

SimDaddyGT Mar 18, 2008 12:27 AM

Spoiler:
Well onea y'all did mention something about Vince wanting to dispose of Tag Teams altogether, this just starts the evidence that whoever said it was right.

I gotta say, I'm not that disappointed that my mug wasn't on TV from what Idle said after the show, but hell, it's not a big deal. The cameras were right behind me, and I figured this much when I bought the ticket, because that's just about always how Raw's shot, behind the floor on the right side of the Titantron.

I still had really good seats. My only conflict was when anything happened outside the ring, because people in front of me kept crowding the guardrails, so I just watched the Titantron.

mortis Mar 18, 2008 12:56 AM

Spoiler:

Tag team division? The WWE has a tag team division? Oh, THAT tag team division. The one that on Raw only contains teams where individual wrestlers are put together. At least Smackdown! has something though although why the belts are on Nitro/Miz instead of the Edgeheads is beyond me.

BTW, Hurricane walked out on Rosey.

Cause then you'll get what happened with Team Angle in that they'd have to focus between two angles because WWE is dumb. I mean the Edgeheads are PERFECT to pull of the Basham Brother type thing.

El Ray Fernando Mar 18, 2008 06:29 AM

Shame hearing about Jeff, is his career push/chance completely over do you think?

Jericho took the title but man its weak having Jericho in the middle divisions; when they guy made his debt he came in shouting his mouth off to the rock. I'd would have fully expect him to be involved with HHH, Cena, Orton because that would have actually made the match interesting, and also the build up because Jericho with the mic is dynamite.

It should be Jericho in the MITB match because if he won we would have seen shenanigans. My only hope is for Mr Kennedy now.

mortis Mar 18, 2008 07:04 AM

The sad thing about Jericho is he probably won't ever get the title again. Yeah, he'll come in sniffing distance and get title shots but he won't win the big one. That's not due to his own abilities but just from what we have seen since 2001.

I think Jeff's push is in dire straits. however, the WWE may be sympathetic due to what happened with his home. I just hope Jeff doesn't go nuts and becomes the next pro wrestling tragedy.

Winter Storm Mar 18, 2008 12:26 PM

Even if he doesn't become WWE champion, atleast the IC title got some kind of love. It was like "meh" to Jeff Hardy. Now all it needs is a feud built around it. Jeff should be alright enough to not go nuts. One thing for sure, pushes and wellness violations is the last thing on his mind.
