Rose (SFA, Soul Illusion), Sub Zero (MK, Ice Clone), Chizuru (KoF, almost every special move), Basara (SS), are all neat answers.

Aw, questions and answers are running dry :( Last ditch attempt:
SM69) Name 3 fighting game characters that have specials/supers in which they throw out random items that damage/heal.
SM70) Name a game that is just about (but technically not) impossible to beat without a second player.
SM71) Name the abilities in Dewprism that Rue and Mint obtain immediately before the final battle.
SM72) Name all of Mid-Boss' unique techniques in Disgaea.
SM73) Name 3 fighting game characters that use cards directly to damage opponents.

Let's go for some random guesses:

SM69) Hisui (Melty Blood), Faust (Guilty Gear), Amingo (Marvel vs Capcom 2)

SM73) Gambit (Marvel VS series), Oswald (KoF XI), no ideia.

The Dungeons & Dragons arcade games technically if you use 1 credit. But if that doesnt' fly, then I'll go with Contra as I simply cannot dodge that well. Same goes for any game where you dodge crap flying at you, like the Raiden games.

Gakineko Aug 15, 2006 09:08 PM

I'd say NARC for NES. the enemies were really too much, and even with infinite lives, i still couldn't kill the last boss (;>_<)

Since the thread is losing flavor, i thought i'd spice it up with something different (as well as making a slight recovery from being so busy lately to attend to my thread ;_; )

the formal update may be found on the top page.

Can you name the games these screenshots came from?

SM69) Faust (GGXX), Norimaro (Mshvs.SF), Tesse (Waku Waku 7), Hisui (Melty Blood), Hsien-Ko (Darkstalkers), etc.
SM70) The Adventures of Cookie and Cream (some NES games fall into this too)
SM71) Block/Defend (Rue), Gold + Cosmos (Mint)
SM73) Gambit, Oswald, and King Bakuchioh (Ranma 1/2)

Number 4 is obviously Pokemon
Number 6 is one of the Warioware games, I'm guessing the original

Omnislash124 Aug 16, 2006 08:41 AM

Number 3 is a little generic there....I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say Sword of Mana (GBA)

Acro-nym Aug 16, 2006 11:06 AM

Number two looks like it comes from a Zelda-like game, if not from a Zelda game.

Tortalius Aug 16, 2006 12:03 PM

3 is megaman Battlenetwork. I'm gonna say number 3

Gakineko Aug 16, 2006 05:40 PM

1. (no answer)
2. not zelda (there is no stage 1-1 in zelda ;^_^ )
3. Mega Man Battle Network, but not 3
4. CORRECT: Pokemon, for GB. (you guys had to have one easy one :3)
5. i think this might be the hardest one. ::hint::
Spoiler:
its an early genesis game (1993)

6. CORRECT: Wario Ware, inc. for GBA

TheKnightOfNee Aug 16, 2006 07:45 PM

Is number 5 Puggsy?

I've seen 2, I borrowed it from someone and played it once, I just can't think of the name right now. >_<

Gakineko Aug 16, 2006 11:20 PM

Puggsy is correct! omg. i had only remembered this game because of some walkthrough i saw when i was like 9. surprised someone else knows what it is (;^_^)

so 1, 2, and 3 (well, people could just guess numbers, so it's technically done) are left.

Summonmaster Aug 16, 2006 11:31 PM

=O I remember! Number 2 is definitely Kid Icarus upon further inspection of the icon beside strength, which is an arrow :)

Gakineko Aug 19, 2006 09:12 PM

also correct! So nobody has any clue as to what number 1 is?

Snowknight Aug 19, 2006 09:26 PM

Is number one Final Fantasy Adventure? It looks very, very vaguely familiar.

Omnislash124 Aug 19, 2006 10:45 PM

The first picture posted by OmniSlash appears to be some kind of Harvest Moon game, possibly for the GBA.

#3 is "3 Ninjas".

#4 looks oddly familiar, maybe "Shining in the Darkness"?

i'm sorry, but in Final Fantasy Adventure, there is no "Jump" or "Wing" trait

let me know if you guys need another screenshot from the first one.

with regard to Omnislash's....hmm, the only guess i can muster is at number 2... is it Forgotten Worlds (GEN)?

Omnislash124 Aug 20, 2006 07:07 AM

1. Nope, not Harvest Moon, Go farther back a bit.

2. Yes, It is indeed Forgotten Worlds.

3. Close enough, 3 Ninjas Kick Back is the real name....but that's good enough

4. Nope. To tell the truth, I didn't know this kinda game existed for this system.

When I first saw the picture, the look of the dungeon immediately made me think of Eye of the Beholder.

Nope.....it is on the SNES, however.

This game is probably one of the most obscure games there are.

Megavolt Aug 21, 2006 03:15 PM

I think number four is Dungeon Master.
