I recently played MG Ac!d 1 and loved it. Collecting those cards sure is addicting. One pet peeve that started to get on my nerves though was moving through doors. Two turns? what the fuck. In the console games you run through those things without stopping. When there is a door in your way with a guard it can seriously fuck up your strategy.
Anyways, if Ac!d 2 is even better than the first, I might go pick that up as soon as today. I don't think I could ever get enough of that series. |
I'm stuck at a default alert mode where I have to battle about 8 guys. I really don't want to kill them so I may achieve an A rating, but with 8 enemies, I've got to kill some.

I spent like 40 minutes trying to decide what card to import from Ac!d before I even started Ac!d squared :(
Started with 1371 points (1/100th of my total points from Ac!d) and Fortune card, which I then used to upgrade during the first intermission into Fortune+ Everyone says Big Boss is better to bring over but I dunno, points aren't that hard to get honestly. Spoiler:
Playing in Solid Eye mode kind of gets weird after a while. I'm afraid I'd get addicted to it because it's cool. |
Just picked up MGA:2, and totally forgot about the whole firmware thing. I currently have 1.50, so I have always had the ability to use homebrew. While I don't always keep up to date on the whole homebrew scene, I do have a couple emulators on my PSP that I use now and then when I get bored. I know I can't stay on 1.50 forever, as newer and more tempting games that require the upgrade are coming along.
What do you guys think...is it worth the upgrade from 1.50 to 2.60? |
As far as I know it's possible to play MGA:2 using a loader, so you can rip your game and playing it via your memory stick if I'm not mistaken.
|
Do you really need 2.6? Can you use 2.0? If so, use 2.0 - you can go back to 1.5 anytime.

Yeah the US version requires 2.60
If you know what you're doing though it will run just fine on 1.50. |
Woah, holy crap, holy crap! (if you live in the US and have a Best Buy nearby)
http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US...SPgame1999.pdf A coupon that makes Megaman Powered Up, Maverick Hunter X, or Capcom Classics Remixed only 20 bucks apiece! If you haven't picked up these awesome games yet, run off to Best Buy and pick em up! |
Frown... US stores only... I was just on the edge of buying Megaman Powered Up too. Oh well, my local game store has half off several new PSP games anyways, I'll see if those would be worth it. I'm eyeing Darkstalkers (finally)

price for my PSP
I'm selling my PSP and plan on putting up flyers around campus.
4 games: Metal Gear Acid, Mercury, Lumines, Wipeout Pure is $250 reasonable... if not, what would be reasonable? |
{merged Azral's post into this thread}
Are you including a memory stick? What firmware does your PSP have? If you have a 1.5, you'll probably get a good price on eBay without including all the games. |

As mentionned in the previous post, hopefully you haven't updated your firmware too much as the buyer will probably want to play around with all the homebrew stuff. I still would try to sell it for over $200 with the games though, as Lumines & Wipeout Pure may be old but are still two of the best on the system. |

You can, but the first one I'd get would be Maverick Hunter X. It's just so awesome -- the voice acting is great, the graphics are beautiful, playing as Vile is awesome, and it's just an extremely solid game. Second, go for Powered Up! and lastly, get the Capcom Collection.

Well, getting Mega Man Powered up is just as tempting. Which would you say is the overall better game? I wish that coupon worked for Metal Gear Ac!2 too. I still haven't finished the first one though, the damn Metal Gear keeps getting me with that huge beam. SHININ' SHININ' SHININ' SHININ' http://gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=6240 I ask only of two things; autosaving levels so you don't have to start over from scratch, and an online mode. |
Another thing about Megaman is that CoJ is releasing the stuff that'll let you play the Japanese version of MegamanPowered Up.

PRICE DROP!
I just got an email from Playstation Underground announcing that the PSP is now just $200! Looks like they're trying to bring the heat on DS. I had planned on getting one eventually, but after playing Hunters on DS I didn't know which one to get. Now with Silent Hill and Ace Combat coming to PSP and with this price drop, it looks like I'll be getting a PSP afterall. |

I saw gameplay footage for the new Tekken today and it was looking nice, probably has some of the best graphics the PSP has seen so far. Also seems like the GPS function isn't far off, same goes for the PS3 connectivity. |
Damn, apparently the $200 PSP doesn't come with a case or a memory stick. Can anyone confirm this? No memory stick = no point!
|
You could play games but it wouldn't save anything. The PSP might have a little internal memory, but I think you're expected to have a memory stick from a Sony Digital Camera or some other Sony product.
|
There's no reason not to get the Giga Pack if you're planning on buying a PSP. With a memory stick smaller than 1 GB in size, you won't have much fun watching video, playing music and homebrew (emulators) on the portable console.
Besides, it comes with a USB cable to hook up the PSP to your computer. Putting stuff on it is child's play (the PSP is automatically detected as removable storage) compared to the restrictive iPod/iTunes management. |
