Out of randomness, anyone here from Central Jersey? I feel like a loner here since everyone seems to be out on the West Coast.

I don't wanna be waiting in line with fees to pay. ._.

Also, today's updates: Donkey Kong's Special Moves and 75m (DK Arcade Stage)

You mean you didn't fully pay it off?

I for one will be one of the first in line, considering I kinda work at the GS near me, with the tourney happening as well.

So I'll get to listen to people complain at each other. :D

I'm on the east coast if that makes you feel any better.

I'm gonna go do that after class... So that means, around 3:45 or so. I just did it so I could save my copy when it was supposed to come out in December.

And I suppose it makes me feel better. :eagletear:

Yeah I actually want to try unlocking everyone first before actually hopping online to brawl with you all. Luckily the game is coming right before March Break, so my sister can unlock as many characters as she can while I am working. All the characters I want to play as aren't in the starting roster (except for Bowser) so that is another incentive.

I wish the game came out on Sat, so then I'd have 2 whole days to play. Ah well.

Buizel Mar 4, 2008 08:25 AM

If you want to quickly unlock characters SSE is your friend... or do this:

Setup Special Brawl with the following:
- Turn on Stamina
- Set Flower for Head
- Set Fast for Speed
- Now select one Human player that YOU like to use and set HP to 300 and one CPU player and set HP to 1.
- Now literally just keep pressing Start/+. You don't have to do anything and the match will end as soon it starts! You can use the Wiimote and walk around your house since you don't need to see what's happening... except when a new challenger comes (NOTE: Only use the Wiimote if you are comfortable fighting against the new challenger with the Wiimote or attach with the nunchuck/classic controller). lol

I said it before but I won't be getting my US copy until a week later after the release but I can still play against you guys with my Japanese copy. XD

Miles Mar 4, 2008 09:56 AM

I hope a lot of you have AT&T wireless so we can call eachother for free and talk as we play. Skype sucks. =O

That's probably what I'll do with my friends anyway. Mobile to mobile is awesome and only Canada and Mexico would miss out. Or for the people with 360s we can go the private chat route that Skills mentioned to me. Still, this is all ridiculous and we should have a proper mode of in-game chat for this. Damn Nintendo.

Chaotic Mar 4, 2008 11:17 AM

Nope, I got Verizon.

If anyone can recommend another program that's better than Skype, then tell me. As long as we can chat while we're fighting, that's peachy with me.

FatsDomino Mar 4, 2008 12:21 PM

We could always use Team Speak or something.

Don't have AT&T. :(

Well as far as I know, some of my collegues and friends are gonna be using Ventrillo to speak to each other, from their MMO/FPS days.

But the 360 idea can work to some extent. It'd be easier for everyone to have their own voice/text chat lobby for us to talk in.

Chaotic Mar 4, 2008 01:06 PM

Oh curses. I don't own a 360...

Unless everything there is linked to MSN Messenger, then this might be a possibility.

Then get a 360, and join the club.

As for MSN Messenger, I know it's possible to use it on the 360, because Kai gets distraught when I message him through IMs while he's online playing. :p

DarthSavior Mar 4, 2008 02:05 PM

I don't own a 360 nor do I have AT&T. :(

Ding ding ding.

And I would be glad to toss a server up. My roommate doesn't use anything thats bandwidth intensive, so he could tolerate it. :)

Chaotic Mar 4, 2008 02:16 PM

Looks like I'll need to get Team Speak when the time comes. Hopefully it's easy enough to use... Never used it before. <.<

Long as you have a microphone and know how to :

-Press a button to talk.
-Talk without pressing a button.

Then you're fine.

Chaotic Mar 4, 2008 02:24 PM

Works for me then. :tpg:

Lukage Mar 4, 2008 03:35 PM

Well I sadly don't have a static IP, so here's the current info:

70.130.195.182:8767

I'll leave it on as long as my PC is running (which is usually forever) starting today.

Cool. Now we can talk crap to each other before and when the game comes out. :p

AIM is better than Skype, seriously. Skype is the biggest piece of shit chat client in the world.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Ventrilo...Isn't that supposed to be the #1 voice chat client for gamers? I thought it was huge with WoW and CS:S clans.

Chaotic Mar 4, 2008 06:12 PM

Is Skype really that bad? I have it installed to talk to some close friends, but I haven't really had many problems with it.

And I finally paid off my Brawl reserve. :3:

Josiah Mar 4, 2008 06:34 PM

Yeah, I might play with a friend for a while (maybe co-op SSE) and then do that on my own for a while. Seeing as how my character might take some time to unlock.

As for the midnight release and the tournament, I had to pick which Gamestop to reserve and sign up at since there's two in town here, and went with the one on the same strip as where I work. Though I've discovered some potential car problems for that day; I might have to friggin' ride a bike over from the opposite side of town. :><:

I would rather not have it and be spared of the "Barrens Chat"-like idiocy that could/would ensue.

I've tried using it a bunch of times to do voice chat with, but it never really worked right for me. The voice would always cut out and there were always disconnects from the service. Granted my friend that I chatted with lives about 800 miles away from me, so the distance might have been messing it up.

Cheezeman3000 Mar 5, 2008 03:22 AM

IGN review is up, also, gamerankings has an average score of 98%. I would link but we all know how to use the internet, right?

Chaotic Mar 5, 2008 07:22 AM

In case anyone didn't check it out yet, IGN gave Brawl a 9.5.

Because I dozed off way too early last night, today's update: Item Encyclopedia.
