Yes. Jungle justice!

Go ahead, ZiggyGo.

ZiggyGo Apr 21, 2008 07:29 PM

Well, putfile was being mean and not letting me register, so for this time only (hopefully), here's a sendspace file. Sorry it took so long to get up!

Nobody?

Hint 1: This composer likes to include PC-88 versions for a lot of soundtracks.

ZiggyGo Apr 26, 2008 11:48 AM

I didn't think I chose a hard soundtrack...anyone?

Dhsu Apr 26, 2008 12:02 PM

You know, it occurs to me that a lot of these would be great SotW noms. Ya'll should check it out!

Rimo Apr 28, 2008 09:34 AM

It's "HASSIN COM." from The Scheme. I was only familiar with the main theme from that game, so it was hard to guess. Your hint, plus the id3 tags that were not removed from the file :p, helped to identify it.

ZiggyGo Apr 28, 2008 09:42 AM

Oh drat. Next time I'll make sure I double check!

But yes, you are correct. I could have chosen easier tracks from that soundtrack, but I figured it'd be a good challenge.

Rimo Apr 28, 2008 09:45 AM

It's better to chose something rather difficult to find, but sometimes the tracks seem to be a little too hard to identify.

Here's another one to guess. I don't think it's ultra well-known, yet it doesn't come from the dark depths of total obscurity, so it should be possible to identify.

Medieval, hack and slash, Seta/Athena.

MrMonkeyMan May 1, 2008 10:42 AM

Castle of Dragon I guess. Never heard of that one, but since I already have a song ready, I'm just going to go ahead and post it up.

It's some dungeon music for Gargoyle's Quest.

No clue, but it sounds absolutely gorgeous. Okami perhaps?

Duck King May 3, 2008 09:16 AM

Yes, there are some impressive tunes on the soundtrack. Not Okami, though. I believe that sounds more oriental than gothic.
Hint:
PC game based on tabletop role-playing games concerning vampires.

Amayirot Akago May 3, 2008 09:48 AM

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines?

Duck King May 3, 2008 10:03 AM

Well, it's Redemption not Bloodlines, but I'll consider it correct. The song is called Anezka's Theme (which was the nun that fell in love with crusader-turned-vampire) and was composed by Kevin Manthei.

Your turn.

Amayirot Akago May 3, 2008 05:25 PM

Alrighty then, pretty simple but hopefully not too obvious:
Guess the soundtrack number 656346756949 - Putfile.com

Amayirot Akago May 6, 2008 02:20 AM

Hmm, no guesses yet? Time for some serious hintage then.

The song plays when the main character "dies".

Rimo May 7, 2008 05:04 PM

Well, the relation to a death scene was obvious, but I really don't know from which game it's from. Is it a LucasArts title?

Amayirot Akago May 7, 2008 05:10 PM

Indeed it is.

If that doesn't make it too damn obvious, I don't know what will :p

NinjaguyDan May 8, 2008 12:00 PM

You guys couldn't get Monkey Island 3 right away? bah. I just did monkey island 2 like 2 weeks ago. That song would be Guybrush's "death" when the fake credits play in the crypt.

I still love that part, Score 1013 points . . . "Hey! I'm not dead yet!"

and here's mine:

Amayirot Akago May 8, 2008 02:03 PM

Yep, that is the correct answer.

Incidentally, you might wanna check your file, since the link is broken for me.

Duck King May 8, 2008 02:58 PM

Haha, I keep missing the most obvious ones.

And that midi is the music for tutorial island in Runescape, isn't it?

EDIT: Well, I can assure that it is. Remember it briefly from the time I tried out that game. ;_;

Rimo May 8, 2008 08:23 PM

Well, the mystery won't have lasted very long, but it's from Tempest 2000. Good one!

TheKnightOfNee May 8, 2008 08:40 PM

Well, that was quick. It is indeed Tempest 2000.
