I can't decide if this is the best joke ever, or the worst thing in the history of manshaped things. Hopefully the first...

Grilled Carrots Dec 4, 2007 02:57 PM

Did I miss something?

Slayer X Dec 4, 2007 10:16 PM

Dude I have no clue what the hell is going on right now. Almost feels like a Nintendo game.

Suggesting all PS3 discussion threads be closed until the system actually gets games.

Tube Dec 5, 2007 12:45 AM

I have some interesting news on the NO PS3 GAMES front. There is a rumor that a popular Square-Enix RPG franchise may be headed to the system in the future. It is unclear at this time if the series will return to its pre-suckiness days, or if it will be another disappointment, but at least there is a dim light at the end of the tunnel for now. Until then, sorry, no games.

ITT poor people

Keep saving those pennies boys, some day you'll be able to afford a real man's console

value tart Dec 5, 2007 01:40 AM

Um... last I checked there's a difference between being unable and unwilling to buy a PS3.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Dec 5, 2007 02:27 AM

I think our boy was just a little too late to catch the joke title, Mo0. I'm gonna cut him a tiny bit of slack and assume that, or assume he's playing along.

No one's so retarded as to state something like that in all seriousness, right?

Grilled Carrots Dec 5, 2007 10:37 AM

Hmm... has anyone heard about this game?: IGN: Angel Love Online

Slayer X Dec 5, 2007 10:44 AM

No I haven't heard of it. But seeing as how the game can probably run on any PC made within the last decade, I'd just go get the PC version and forget about the PS3 one coming to the US.

UPDATE: Rock Band patch TODAY to enable the GH3 guitar to work with Rock Band.

Grilled Carrots Dec 5, 2007 10:58 AM

Oh come on, the idea is to make the ps3 do something beyond a fancy media center.

Slayer X Dec 5, 2007 11:14 AM

That must be why it can't play any of the videos stored on my computer that the 360 could play even before the DivX (+more) update.

Grilled Carrots Dec 5, 2007 11:36 AM

Not enough love from you mister. Besides, stream the darn thing.

Chip Dec 9, 2007 02:56 AM

Hmm, I need your inputs people.... I'm going to grab a game for this christmas and I'm torn between two games:

Assassins Creed and Folklore....

So which do you think I should get :o

SouthJag Dec 9, 2007 03:02 AM

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Your two suggestions are both really good games as well, but if you haven't played Uncharted or Ratchet and Clank yet, then those two rightfully should come first.

But strictly between those two? I'd say Folklore, but that's a pretty niche game. Macabre story line, extreme fantasy locales and kinda slow on the action, but a really solid game. Assassin's Creed's also really fun, if a little repetition doesn't bother you.

Hi ps3 owners. I got a ps2 and it served me well. but last month my gf asked me what I wanted for xmas and I jokingly said "a ps3" and now I have it here staring at me. :P

But here in this small asia country of mine orginal blueray games cost at arm and a leg. (the console cost a 5 hectares of land :p)
I never tought shed get one so I didnt bother to research on this amazing looking paperweight, and just found out it cant play "back-up" copies of ps2s that I have. ;P

Can anyone give me a tip on how to "fix" this? :D

Slayer X Dec 9, 2007 11:45 PM

There is currently no means of modding a PS3, so you're out of luck in that department.

As far as I remember, there isn't a working chip for the ps3... and even if you get one, the blu-ray burners are quite expensive and so is the media. (Obviously this doesn't apply for DVDs)

And... you don't want to put "bootlegged" games on your ps3 if you put it online.

I guess all you can do is wait, or start exporting stuff...

Roan Dec 10, 2007 12:06 AM

Ok then that fine with me, but how about downloadable free games or demos? I just read wikipedia that this thing has a harddrive and it can even browse the internets! ;P (my ps2 was just used the simple old fashioned way, insert the disc and play, this thing is like a pc!!!) sorry Im a real noob at this new hardware

Grilled Carrots Dec 10, 2007 12:33 AM

Yeah, beyond the media center functionality you can download some demos, tons of trailers and some other stuff all for free. Full games cost some money and full videos will be a reality in the not-so-far future.

However, it needs tons of video codecs (most likely it will get those on the future) and don't expect much from the internet browser.

The ps3 still has a loooong way to go...

Roan Dec 10, 2007 04:40 AM

thanks comrade! one last question for everyone, could you recommend a playable game demo I should I download? Whats the best playable game demo released so far?

Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Uncharted w/e the hell it's called, Gran Turismo, Heavenly Sword (the demo is way too short), and the Devil May Cry demo which isn't out yet but should be out soon. If you want a cheap game, and I dont know where you live, import Enchanted Arms from North America even tho the game is really boring, but some say it's not that bad once you get half way thru the game.

Roan Dec 10, 2007 12:06 PM

Thank you Dagobert! Thanks so much!

Roan Dec 12, 2007 09:05 AM

Fucking Sony. I hate them now. I just found out my 40gb model cant play ps2 games. I just bought a ps2 game a while ago and to my surprise it would play. This ps3 came from japan and all the manuass are in japanese which I cant read so I didnt know. All their ads a few months ago said it was backwards compatible and now they took it out just like that? I hate sony! I cant wait for a modchip to get out or an iso loader, Im not going to buy any sony product from now on, sheese ps3 games expensive. I shouldve gotten an xbox.
