Me and my sister played yesterday, and we never saw an option to sign in a second profile on the second controller. All you can do is turn the controller on and press start, and then both players just go to the organization/shop screen.
|
That's a shame: no independent trophy support (not a huge deal but good for shits and giggles) and most annoying of all is the second player can't sell or upgrade anything. I see the logic behind it, especially for online co-op but it'd be nice to be able to give your partner a certain amount of money from your own to do their own upgrades with instead of having to drop the gun down into the inventory for player 1 to upgrade. Super lame. Game is fun but we've been playing it 3 days in 3-4 hour burts and we're almost done with it now. Lots of replayability with weapon upgrades and playing through chapters/mercenaries etc but it's a shame after how long Resident Evil 4 was.

Beat the game the other day with my brother via splitscreen co-op, and man was it fun. We jumped right into verteran mode, since we both found the normal mode to be too easy when trying the demo before, and boy was it pretty challenging. The difficulty really stepped up when you started facing the tribal majini's in chapter 3, I think it was 3-1 with those two giant majinis did we get stuck for a bit, since we were trying to kill them. After our 7th try of that tactic we just gave up and just went with one lowering the bridge while the other distracted the horde and making the mad dash across right after.
I really enjoyed the Wesker fight, even though it was a bit of a puzzle at first, it was so satisfying when you land the melee combo successfully. The splitscreen I ended up liking, even though the screen was so much smaller compared to other games, I found myself getting less confused. As with Gears of War split I occassionally found myself looking at my partners screen, and wondering WTF I was doing. We just unlocked everyone in Mercenaries mode too, great to see that the mode has co-op offline and on. Sheva's Long Bow is pretty power, even though it lacks an aiming sight. |

So I've beaten this game twice. Going through again; been redoing missions to get money for my characters! I've been completely addicted to purchasing and upgrading new weapons.
Definitely one of my favorite games so far this year. |
Me and Sian are stuck on
Spoiler:
Any help would be appreciated! |
Pretty sure the orange things that open up on his back and chest are how you get him to falter and eventually die. I've always just won by shooting those. Worked in every difficulty.
Spoiler:
If you didn't mean that part then I feel silly for typing it all out. |
I did mean that part actually, thanks! I'll give it a go next time we play

I'd just like to jump in here real quick and express my thoughts:
I don't own a 360 or a PS3 so I haven't actually played the game, but I watched the important scenes from youtube and I'm kinda glad I didn't buy it(was going to play it at a friend's place.). I just have a general dislike for it, especially the character models(For the old characters.), they're just, unrecognisable and silly. Looks like it's an all right game, but I won't be buying it. SPOILER: SPOILER2: |
Aside for Chris "Rock Solid" Redfield's stupidly large arms, I think the character models are really well done in the game (certainly Sheva). And really, watching the cutscenes from a Resident Evil game is about as good an indicator of quality as judging a film by watching the credits.
Given you don't own a 360 or a PS3 I doubt Capcom will be losing any sleep over your statement that you won't be buying (one has to wonder, if the characters didn't look silly to you, what you would buy it?). As for your first spoiler: Spoiler:

hey guys i am going to make sweeping judgements on a game i have never played.
Such impertinence , Exo. Stop wasting our time with that nonsense. |
OK, on the topic of hair colour changes, after doing some reading I found the supposed reasoning:
Spoiler:
|
Why so they need to come up with silly shit like that to justify different coloured hair? Why couldn't they have just said that Jill fancied changing her hair colour so nipped to Boots and bought some dye one day?
I thnik sometimes the people who write all the backstory guff get a little carried away... |

I mean, the game looks splendid, I just think the older characters looks almost unrecognisable. Quote:
But yeah, I watched a good 1~ hours of footage, I got a big chunk of the story. And.. that's mainly what I don't like about it. Quote:
Most likely, if I did I would probably buy it even though my dislike of the story Chris' grotesque muscles. Quote:

And I never judged it, I'm just saying I've reached the conclusion that I won't be buying it since the bad outweighs the good at the moment. If I did indeed have a PS3, I would buy it. Just because it's Resident Evil. Holy crap guys, I'm uttering dislike of a few things, not damning the thing to hell. My humble apologies, it shall not happen again.:eye: |

I'll just leave that, since it was a stupid mistake. I did not play through the game, I didn't even play it much, just felt it out a bit. Just enough for it feel exactly like RE4. Also, what? The only thing I derived from the cut scenes is the story. Which ultimately took away all my motivation to get the game and play it somewhere that isn't home. Quote:
Which I already covered, in my first post. And your picture evidence furthers my opinion, I can't tell them to be the same person. Didn't want to argue man, not what I was going for. Sure is uptight in here. |
Quote:
As should be painfully clear by now, the story is stupid, but in a fun way (as has been the case with all the Resident Evil games), but more importantly the game itself is a lot of fun. Basing your purchasing decision on some cutscenes you watched on YouTube is downright stupid. Your status as a moron is confirmed right there. Quote:

I was wondering if anyone else did this exploit in the game(even though it's pointless to do past a point). Essentially I'm sure everyone is aware at this point that if you play with a counterpart online that if they disconnect while in a level they will leave behind a copy of their items on the sheva character.
What me and a friend had been doing is filling his(Sheva's) inventory with nine stacks of five regular grenades, and my inventory with nothing, going into the Marsh level and picking up the two gems at the start, then him disconnect and me taking all the grenades and going back into the menu. This would yield us roughly 11k each time we did it, plus 2k from the gems. Though, I recently found some golden eggs, which sell for 5k a stack. Just curious if anyone is abusing the game as much as we are. |
I'm pretty sure a majority of players are abusing the broken parts of this system to keep duplicating items.
Honestly can't say its broken though because obviously capcom would have caught something as simple as this |
Haha, yeah, I was told that if that were mentioned as a bug, they probably wouldn't fix it. So I guess it's understandable that they left it in.
Oh yeah, I was also wondering, for ingame points that you aquire when beating levels. I haven't tried it yet since I haven't been able to play the game with a friend recently(and there's no way in hell I'm playing through solo), but does the amount of points you get differ by difficulty? I know on Normal mode beating a level and getting an "S" ranking supplies you with 1,500 points. Just wondering if beating a level on Veteran or even Professional will yield even more points. yeah I know about that duplicate items thing but its kind of a assle to have a friend going in a game and out for only money. If you really want to farm money, you can do the chaper 3-1. There's 12k worth of treasure without a single ennemy to encounter, so you don't waste any ammo and you can find all the treasures in less than 10min.
or if you have a lot of ammo or already have a inf ammo gun, you can do the chapter 5 (don't remember if it's 5-1 or 5-2) and there a corridor with lickers. If you kill them all, you get 5 lion hearts wich is 12,5k worth of money and there's a check point right in that corridor. So you can just quit after you kill them all, do a continue and you are right in front of the licker again. It take less than 5 min to kill them all, pretty easy and quit money. |
