Maryland bound
Within the next few days, I'll be making my way to Maryland. Well, the entire family anyway. A bunch of really bad and vile shit has happened in my life the past couple of years and it looks like getting there will be the beginning of the end of it and hopefully a new, grand adventure is waiting to be had.

Who knows, maybe I'll finally get to a place I can get extras casting work or start having a better life. Anyways, I know a few people from here are up north that way, so perhaps this means I'll be able to hit up the next meet. Time will tell I guess.

I'm pretty pissed about what I've had to do to survive lately, but I guess that's part of life. I have to let go of shit and learn to accept things as they are. Doesn't mean I really fucking like it, but I guess it's either that or live on the streets.

New doors and all that
While it still hurts, I'm trying to get used to my cat not being here anymore but I know in time that will heal. It doesn't help matters that our dog has been looking for him yesterday and today and it kind of tears me up to see her sad like that.

However, this isn't a pity entry or a grab for attention, this is actually about what looks like a new door may be opening that could help me take his death a little bit easier and my mind off of things. After linking a Sharknado 2 trailer on a group I'm a part of on Facebook, most of my real life friends (along with acquaintances of mutual friends who do films) in that group have determined that we are going to write and try to do our own cheesy "Sci-Fi Original" movie. Details are still being hammered out, but I think it will be a pretty cool experience. I can't wait to see how deliciously horrible this movie will be.

I'm looking forward to working on this, as it's always been on my list of things I've wanted to do. I may not be a great actor, but after seeing some of the movies that make it on Sci-Fi, I don't think I have much to worry about.

RIP Fat Rat 1996-2014
For 18 long years, my cat has trolled me every opportunity he could. He's survived a lot: shot by a drunk redneck neighbor, poisoned from getting into things he wasn't supposed to, teasing dogs and being chased to running across the road just to eat the cat's food from across the street.

He died earlier today. Natural causes. Something I never thought would get him. I lost my Mojo kitty last year, and now having to do this again with him is going to be painful. I'm in for a really really long day.

Extraction was a success!
After about an hour, I finally got my disc out of the bluray drive of my PS3. Nothing was damaged, so I feel pretty good about that. Damn thing was dusty as hell in there too.

Well now I can finally lay the PS3 to rest for now, hopefully a new one will be in the not-too-distant future.

And so ends 6 years and hundreds of hours of fun times.
My Playstation 3 finally flickered its last light the other day. I got the dreaded Yellow Light of Death. Playing Bioshock Infinite, I paused it and went to the restroom. I then heard 3 fast beeps like my machine cutting off, came back and saw the red light flashing. It's turned off like that before usually when a game crashes. Not often, maybe about 5 times total in the 6 years. This time it just didn't come back on.

I guess I'll have to either get a White one or the Red God of War one. I'm leaning towards the white one, as I already have all the God of War games but I dunno if Red would be better for my room or not.

Ah well, sucks about all my saves, but it's nothing I can't get back on the games I really want to work on.

Honestly, the only thing that really sucks is I have one of like two model PS3s that I have to take the disc physically out of the bluray drive. But it lets me see the guts of the system at least.

And as one door closes, another is bound to open.
My seasonal assignment with Amazon has been "complete" for about a week now. I knew it would happen. I'd finally get used to being on my feet 12 hours a day and finally learned how to make a good wall of boxes, then BAM. Time to go. :P I knew it was inevitable, but it felt nice to do some real work and losing some of my "chubbiness" and morphing it into a bit of lean wasn't too bad either.

Hey, at least it was something I can put on an application so another job won't go "Oh so what did you do all this time? Sit on your ass, playing video games?"

This gives me time to try and get back to a normal sleeping schedule now too. Also working on a massive backlog of games while trying to find another job that will last (hopefully) more than a few weeks.

And boy, do I have some horror stories to tell you about people being fired during my time there (and some that I had heard happened a few weeks before I got there too). Just hope nothing anyone orders comes through the Chattanooga facility. People are waaaay rough with the packages!

Mandatory overtime already.
Well, it's a true Iron Man shift tonight and tomorrow. 12 hours. I hope they let me do something different than packing trucks. Or at the very least let me work with someone that we both can get shit done. I know I've been there 2 days, but they've managed to stick me with people who slack worse than I ever did. To add a bit of clarity, they change your positions 4 times a night. A couple times I've been paired with people who we work well together and can get stuff done fast, while most of the time it's been with people who are slow or just sloppy and don't care how it's done in loading a truck. :P

It's all good though. I'm having fun and I don't feel like walking death today than I did when I woke up from after my first day yesterday.

Hope everyone had a decent Turkey Day.

Jeeeeeerb! (maybe)
Tomorrow I go to orientation and get my entry badge for the Amazon warehouse. My start date is November 21st. 6:30pm-5:00am in the shipping department. It's seasonal, but I was also told that since they overbook/overhire, that I need to be there early cause it would be first come, first serve.

It's been a while Iron Man shift, I know you will try to break me. I expect a lot of pain, a lot of "holy fuck my feet hurt" and the like. But, I have to do this. It's been way too long.

I understand that it's seasonal, so I'm looking at 2 possibly 3 months of work and then the slight possibility of being asked to stay on if I do a great enough job. Even if it is just for the holiday season, at least that's something current and then I can put it on my application for future jobs.

Other than that, things seem to start finally looking up for me. I'm starting to write a bit more, perhaps I can finally finish this novel 13+ years in the making. Maybe I can even sign up for a talent agency, get some extras work in. I dunno, I feel pretty damn good for once.

Baltimore Bound
So I decided that this year I wanted to do something fun instead of wishing I did something and not having ANY fun in my life. After talking it over with a friend, I'm going to attempt to go to Otakon.

Now this will be a first for me on many levels. My first *big* convention. The only convention I've been to is the yearly one Charlotte has: Heroes Con. This will also mark the first time I'm on a plane and the first time in Maryland. (that's visiting and not passing through)

I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun. So are there are any people that are going to go? Anyone live near Baltimore that want to say hi? Just curious is all.

Well more details as they arise!
