Taco Night in China.
Take THAT cultural integration!

I don't think I'll ever be fully pulled away from taco night, even if I live in a place with no beef I will FIND A WAY. I'm back in Canada in three days and then I will be starting my unemployment streak. Let's hope it ends soon, eh?

Almost done my degree.
Two exams to go and I will have finished my MBA.

So where's the people lining up to give me a job? What? The world imploded while I've been in school?

Wonderful.

@ Devo (about your apparent vampirism)
So you're a vampire?

Does that mean we should be at war or something?

I have thus far not encountered a vamp on these forums... but now things have changed! Provide me some context to my confusion. I have too many pop culture references of warring factions hitting me to grasp this properly. I looked for pictures of werewolves holding hands with vampires and rainbows and this is all I got...

Vamp keepin' the brother wolfman down! Tell me there is some time where there was peace...

It's 4 AM here. (more musings about China)
So apparently my group leader decides to freak out a bit and think a massive paper is due TODAY rather than Friday. The misinformation that runs in my class is exhausting sometimes. So guess who is up all night bringing the group's paper together? Can't wait to get some real sleep, but have 7 hours of class today. I'm going to be dragging my dead carcass around this evening, but thankfully I get to sleep in tomorrow.

I'm getting better at bargaining because I actually am starting to realize what the real price of everything is. I went from 120 for a polo shirt to 80 to 40 in three visits. Butnow I have 7 of them, so do I NEED every colour in the rainbow? I don't look good in purple and I think pink is a stretch. does anyone recommend any other colours?

I've got maroon, black, beige, white, sky blue, lime green, pastel orange. Yellow maybe? I'm a white guy, would that work?

Anyway, they're "Lacoste", and it's funny to see how messed up some of the gators are on some of them. One of thetags ripped off clean in the wash, and they all size differently. It's an odd occurence for "official merch". But I'll put that next to my new Rolex and Patek Phillipe watches and Hermes belt.

I'm going to miss this place...

You haven't had a massage until...
...the 20-year-old masseuse starts grinding her oiled-up knee into your back. I swear this must be a fetish in some parts of the world (if not here).

China has some wonderful sides to it. I must say that we had a recent Thanksgiving here, and because peopel forgot to bring forks, we were stuck with chopsticks. And you know what? It was fine! Eating mashed potatoes was VERY interesting and the turkey was delicious, as it was made at a locla Marriott. The cuisine was vast as the nationalities that attended, so it was a great party. There's something about having a full plate of food, good friends, and a 1.5L can of Asahi in your hand that screams Thanksgiving...

Chocolate Cake Delivery
Got a piece of chocolate cake delivered to my place this evening on a whim. I never really understood how easy it was until I picked up a guide for the restaurants that deliver through a central service in the area. the service itself is made possible by the sheer number of people there are in this city, all looking for some way to make a renminbi. I swear, I think this company has like one thousand delivery people.

Don't get me started on the massages... I think every place has a cadre of young girls fresh from the mainland hidden in some storage closet somewhere.

China Issues
Hey folks! I know, it's crazy, posting again. Who do I think I am huh?

Just facing a couple issues now that I've landed in China. One being I got an Asian strain of the flu about 10 seconds after I got off the plane and have ben bed-ridden for about 5 days. Not much I can do about that but it's nothing serious.

As well, China blocks a LOT of content. YouTube, Facebook, both blocked. Does anyone know of some easy IP workarounds for this?

Otherwise, doing OK, school is starting up on Monday which should be lovely. Can't wait to get back to class after a week of travel and resentment of the country I now live in.

Update Time!
My goodness, it's been a while eh?

So! Yes, did my GMAT and was accepted to the UBC MBA program, which I'm 3/4 done at this point. About to head overseas in about 3 weeks to Shanghai, China. Here I will spend 4 months and complete the rest of my degree, returning to Vancouver to become a titan of industry and thus highly paid and respected!

So, not much else has been going on. Been in a relationship that's hitting 1 year 6 months in about a month or so, so that's been good. Been living in an apartment on my own for the length of my degree thus far, which has been great. All new furniture, HDTV, etc. It's been great and I would hate to have to live in a lower-class place when I get back to town, but I can't keep up this level of rent...

So how are you folks doing? Anything new?

The update you've ALL BEEN WAITING FOR...
OK, melodramatic, I know.

Hey folks. Thought I'd stop by and say hi, since I was checking to see what shenanigans you've been up to for April Fool's day. Interesting, but it was certainly hard to look at threads...

In any case, this will be a bit more wordy than the last update, mainly because I was moving in at that point. No, I'm not back into WoW, though I try it out from time to time. (new content sucks me in)

What's been taking up my time mainly has been work (still full-time at a marketing firm), exercise (hitting the gym more often with a friend), romantic interludes here or there, and a variety of other different distractions.

I recently completed my GMAT exam and am currently applying for the MBA program with about seven different universities in Canada. I did well on the test, so I'll likely be back in school this upcoming September, which is certainly advantageous.

Other than that, still at the rental but my brother has moved in as well, so that works out. Wasting away some hours every so often with the PS3 or the Wii, especially on Guitar Hero or Rock Band, as they're certainly fun games to play. Other than that Ratchet and Clank was good, but I'm looking forward to GTA IV. That will be nice. Even bought my first Blu-Ray movie last week! Too bad I don't have an HDTV...

In any case, thought I would say hi.

Currently Playing: In Rainbows
