The Last Remnant...
Yeah--finally hooked the 360 up, and I started playing the game.

And, with every rpg--the key is to level up--this can get you battle chains as well.

Not too bad, but in order to keep the chain going, you have to initiate battles, and I swear I got tired of hearing "Let's do this!" at each initiation.

Couldn't they have varied it? The first few times isn't so bad, but when you're getting up in the numbers, you start wigging out.

It's almost as bad as Jin's "it's just a scratch." after-battle quote.

Other than that, I'm enjoying the game.

Damn, I'm old...
As of yesterday, I am officially "Over the Hill." That's right--I'm 40. You'd think working with a bunch of teenagers would make me feel younger, wouldn't you?

Nope.

In fact, my gray hair came in faster after working with them.

As for what I got....

Well, my mom bought me a beautiful birthstone ring (I never thought to take a picture of it, but it's really nice). I should wear it to work later today...Yeah...Right!

As for what I bought myself:

Some anime--including Samurai Champloo (just wait until the car's paid off--my anime collection's going to go BOOM!)

Had to buy "Tales of the Abyss" again--since kitty decided to walk on it, and crack the center.... Oh, well--it's all good.

Also bought "The Last Remnant," which means I also had to buy a 360.

Would you believe I STILL haven't hooked the thing up?!

Looks like that won't be hit until Christmas, but--I'll be off from work, so let's see how much time I can put in until then...LOL

I don't know--is it better to buy your own gifts?..

Damn you, GFF!!!!! :)
I work with teens, and they were discussing how to hook their computers up so four of them could practice playing a game for tournament--to see who paired better with who.

Something clicked, and I asked them if it was Halo 2....

I've never played Halo. I've never played Halo 2. But, something told me it was Halo 2....

I was right.....

So, once again, GFF made it possible for me to bridge the age gap with my co-workers.....

Who do I have to kill around here?

Store Meeting....
I HATE store meetings, and this week I have two of them. The first at job number 1 was at 8PM Wednesday. The second at job number 2 is 8AM Saturday.....

Wednesday's meeting involved two parts:

Everyone, then just the managers.

It was our usual end of school meeting. "Summer's coming, school's letting out, and hours will be wishy-washy until the business gets on an even keel--this may mean staying past your scheduled time. So don't complain to the Shift Managers about hours. They don't make the schedule. And don't complain when I do give you hours, or you won't get any."

The manager's part was: "You three were managers last year, so help the two new ones get used to the business increase." Believe me, we've been trying to get the employees to go to the newer managers, but they keep coming to us....

Sad note: We had no donuts....

The meeting Saturday morning better have donuts....

What do these three things have in common?
Xenosaga
The Templar Legacy by Steve Berry
Digging for the Truth (on the History channel)

They all mention Rennes-le-Chateau.

Three of my favorite recreations mention this place. Is someone trying to tell me something?

But, seriously, this proves that a lot of research goes into producing video games. Granted, they change things for creative purposes, but it's still nice to see. For example, at Rennes-le-Chateau, there is a Church dedicated to Mary Magdalene (no crypt--but there is a church.) In fact, something like this could cause someone to "find the truth" and do research. Not bad for a video game.

PS: The Templar Legacy mentions Yeshua Bar Yehosef (Jesus, son of Joseph)

I think I need new hobbies....

I had to get a new monitor.....
Stupid monitor...Only 2 years old, and it decided it didn't want to live anymore. Well, I have my old computer here, so I used that monitor....

Was THAT a mistake. After getting used to a 17" flat screen monitor, I just couldn't handle a 15" "normal" monitor again. Plus, it was too dark. I couldn't see too well online. I can't remember if it was always like that, or if it's starting to go now, too....

Well, first I go to my local Wal-Mart #1. They don't have what I want (or can afford.) So, I go to Circuit City. Problem solved, right? Wrong! They have on display what I want, but they are out of stock.....

Off I go to Wal-Mart #2. (I live in an area with 3 Wal-Marts within an hour's drive). Jackpot! They have a 17" flat screen monitor! And, it's in my budget! Yes! So, I am a very happy person right now.

Although widescreen is an adjustment for me...

(And they still make 15"?)

Currently Playing: Actually--watching CSI

My kitty's 5 years old....
Man, how time flies. Cabi has been with me for 4 years, but she turned 5 last month.

I just wish she would settle down a little bit....

Here are some pics!

Kitty in a shoe box!

Remember the boneless cat from Peanuts? She's dead to the world on my mom's arm.

That's her blankie!

This is just too silly for words....

Those eyes are cool....
Okay, I have to admit it. That picture I put on my journal home page is pretty cool.

Now, can anyone tell me whose eyes they are? (Yes, they belong to a character.)

Oh, did I forget to mention I drew those?

Life can be sad....
Yes, there is a life outside GFF, and we are all affected by it. I was reading a few members journals, and although there have been times that my life has seemed bad...

It didn't compare to what I read.

I was genuinely sad at some of the things I read, and I really wish I could alleviate some of the pain I saw.
