I Love GFF + Picture Update

The more I work on GFF the more I realize how much I love this place and want to make it better. I lose focus of that while I'm away but when I return I'm all into it again.

I was going to do a full update on the past few months but I'm going to put that off until later.

I'm sorry I've been away from GFF so long but I will be back sometime next week. I will have a full update then. I'm glad to see this place running pretty smoothly (thanks staff).

My Day Today

As I'm here drinking this ice cold Bass Pale Ale, I am realizing how much my life has changed since 3 months ago when I was at college.

My Day Today:
7:30 AM - Wake Up
7:35 AM - Workout & Breakfast & Shower
9:15 AM - Work... currently I'm working on Make-A-Wish's new website and some random marketing stuff for Bausch & Lomb
7:15 PM - Leave Work
8:00 PM - Dinner
8:30 PM - Gamingforce Audio Development
1:15 AM - Time for a beer.
1:25 AM - This journal entry.

This has been my weekday life for the past month or so replace GFA with this new mobile phone / camera /scavenger hunt site I'm working on or GFF development shenanigans. Tommorrow night however, the real party begins!

I see this come up a lot in journals (YES! I do read other people's journals!), and I was wondering what were the qualifications for becoming an internet (or GFF) hero or being the creator of legendary material?

Digg and Other Media

I am using the Digg site to help promote the Best VGM Song of 2006 contest. What do you guys think about this method to promote things? How does it work? Also, I want to get media coverage for this contest even though right now it's kinda low key. If we can get this into a huge annual deal, it would be super awesome and we would be able to attract people interested in VGM. How can we further promote this contest?

Tagging Journal Entries?

Tagging seems to be the craze these days. With del.ico.us and other tagging sites becoming popular like a GFFer who decides to engage in sex with another GFFer, why not in ChocoJournal? This might make finding obscure entries easier as we can view, search and sort entries by tag.

Maybe instead of tagging, we can organize entries by a list of different categories the entry might fall under.

What are your ideas for putting tags or categorizing journal entries? Good feature to add to the bag or is the idea of a tag gonna make creating entries a drag?

ChocoJournal UPDATED - Version 2.90

I have added and changed a few things in ChocoJournal. You might have seen the graphics already but they are now official in this release. Here are the changes from Version 2.89.

Added cleaner graphics to the main ChocoJournal page and increased the width of the content wrapper so users can have more stuff displayed in their browser.
Past 24 Hours: Entries - This is a new feature that allows you to see all of the entries made in the ChocoJournal system in the past 24 hours (private entries excluded). The 24 hour period is automatically calculated whenever the page is loaded. You can access this feature via the "Past 24 Hours: Entries" button on the main ChocoJournal page.
ChocoJournal SpyGlass - This is a new feature that allows you to track which journals people are heading to. It will display the last 200 journal loads. In addition, I have created everyone's favorite ChocoPie to the page displaying the journals with the most views in the past 24 hours! You can access this feature via the "ChocoJournal: SpyGlass" button on the main ChocoJournal page.
Fixed a couple of security bugs.

Fireworks And GFF Server

Unfortunately the two are not related but MAYBE!?

Yesterday I saw the fireworks in person out in NYC. It's supposed to be the best of the best but I wasn't very impressed. I mean they were big and loud but in the end they were only fireworks.

Sorry about the downtime on the GFF server. It went down and I had no idea it went down till I checked it this AM. Someone please give me a call when such tragedies happen so I can investigate (LIKE GFF INVESTIGATES SEX SCANDELS) the problem and get it up even quicker!
