My iphone is starting to feel like a smartphone now.
I installed the leaked 3.0 GM release and then applied a modified ipcc file to it to unlock the mms and tethering abilities after reading an engadget article about it. Tethering via bluetooth and USB on my laptop was successful. Finally, a way to tether without jail breaking your phone. The native tethering abilities are just as easy as the apple dude described.

It's like always having a wireless connection in my pocket. I don't even have to pull the phone out. It's a damn shame that AT&T won't offer it for a long time even though it works perfectly fine now. I am a bit worried about using it though because they could terminate my account. However, there are other people that have been tethering for months with jailbroken phones too. Maybe I'll just see what happens to other people who follow this method and see if they get in trouble or not.

As for MMSing, they get stuck 90% through and fail and that's because AT&T has a block on them if you're on the iphone texting profile. Lame as hell.
