Day 3 and 4 - Japan is still pretty awesome
Guess it's time for another update on this trip. Yesterday we spent plenty of time trying to find our way around Shibuya, Tokyo. After riding a Pokemon themed train on Wednesday which had nothing but Pokemon advertisements and a screen constantly playing the Pokemon Movie trailer we decided to see the movie. Only problem was that we didn't know how movie theaters work here. In the US you generally have 1 movie theater in the city you live in which plays all the current movies. In Japan you have like 5 or 6 spread around and each one plays one - three movies each. We ended up walking to each one in the heat trying to figure out where it was playing and finally 5 theaters later we decide to ask someone. Figures it's in the only theater we didn't check.

It was interesting seeing a movie in a Japanese theater. Once you buy a ticket and enter the room where it's shown they have an area where you can buy merchandise for movie playing (Pokemon stuff in this case), popcorn, soda, and beer. That's right! Beer for a Pokemon movie. The movie itself was alright. It wasn't too hard to figure out what was going on and even though it was in Japanese I was catching some of the speech and could tell what they were saying from their expressions. The movie had too much cute and not enough Pokemon battles. If you had the DS game you could download content in the movie theater.

Here are some pictures we took throughout the day:

Spoiler:

Cat Statue outside a shop close to our hotel. I had to take a picture of it because it was super cute.

Picture of our room and me on the laptop.

The bathroom is pretty small. It also has one of those toilers that squirt water in your ass. I didn't try it though.

JR Rail picture. It gets super packed and super busy later on.

Hey isn't that the tiger that teaches you how to use the toilet?

These are some pictures of Shibuya that were taken while we were walking around. Not pictures is the Taito Station we came across which had like 5 floors of shopping center and an arcade in the basement. After we visited there we tried out Japanese style McDonalds. The food actually tasted better than the US McDonalds. They do give you less fries and a much smaller drink.

This is a Sega arcade we came across. We hung out here for a bit while waiting for the movie to start.

Some Japanese vending machines. These are VERY COMMON and your best friend. Especially when its freaking hot.

Movie posters at the theater. We kinda wanna see the Ghibli movie too. We might in Osaka.

Stuff I bought from the Tokyo Pokemon Center. I also have a picture of our dinner which was a shrimp pizza but I'll upload it later when it gets transfered.

Check out the youtube video below to see how busy Shibuya became after we left the movie.

And then there's today. Today was mostly us transfering from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka. We checked out of our hotel after eating some all-you-can-eat breakfast for I think it was 1300 yen. After stuffing ourselves full we packed our things and left for the JR Station. From there we rode the Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka. Shit was fast. Scenery was beautiful on the way there and Kairyu was playing his DS the whole time instead of enjoying it like a n00b. After we arrived we semi checked in to the youth hostel and then went out to explore Osaka. We found a temple and pretty much walked around for a bit before returning back and fully checking in. The hostel check in time is after 4PM.

Here are some pictures from today. My battery life is running low so I'll mostly copy and paste without detailed descriptions:

Spoiler:

More to come later.
